Understanding
and evolving through
science

To reduce pollution, we must first understand those origins. That's why BIC's Lighter Division has chosen to support the Tara Ocean Foundation, whose oceanographic vessel travels the world's oceans, working with scientific researchers to understand the dynamics of plastic degradation at sea. This research program aims to document the impact of plastic waste on the ocean and to identify less dangerous substitute materials.

Reducing our
environmental
impact

Taking a science-based approach is a key element of BIC's circular economy roadmap. Thanks to our collaboration with scientific partners as part of our BIC SEA program, we have developed a sustainability plan that abandons preconceived ideas and is rooted in proven facts to build a long-term vision. Because it is not about simply displacing problems but about finding new sustainable solutions and driving long-term change. The scientific approach is one of the key elements of BIC's new circular economy roadmap. By working closely with renowned scientific partners, BIC aims to design a sustainable development plan to build an innovative long-term vision.

We need to find new,
sustainable solutions
and drive change.
We need to rethink
our model by
driving change
